My research interests focus on how mercury is transported and transformed along the aquatic continuum, and its biogeochemical coupling to carbon. More precisely, I seek to understand which elements of the landscape (peat, lakes, forests) have an impact on aquatic concentrations of mercury and on the stoichiometry mercury:carbon in the boreal landscape of James Bay. Our work implies sampling at a very large scale in a remote region, which gives us the privilege of admiring nature’s beauty.
