Congratulations to Matthew Bogard, who is the 2016 recipient of the Rob Peters Award! The award is given each year by the Society of Canadian Limnologists for the best aquatic sciences article written by a student. Matt won the award for his article Oxic water column methanogenesis as a major component of aquatic CH4 fluxes (Bogard et al. 2014).
Congratulations to Clara Ruiz-Gonzalez, who won the prize for the best presentation by a young scientist at the SAME14 conference in Sweden! This conference brings together researchers in aquatic microbial ecology from around the world.

Congratulations to Dominic Vachon, who is the 2013 recipient of the Rob Peters Award! Dominic won the award for his article The ecosystem size and shape dependence of gas transfer velocity versus wind speed relationships in lakes (Vachon and Prairie 2013).
Congratulations to Carolina Garcia Chaves, who won the prize for best poster at the SAME13 conference in Italy! At this conference, which brings together researchers in aquatic microbial ecology from around the world, her poster was chosen from among 300 posters presented.

The GRIL student committee has organised a workshop for students from October 26 to 28, 2012 at the SBL. This weekend will be a great opportunity to meet and share with other GRIL students and to gain new knowledge and skills in limnology. The mornings will be dedicated to student presentations on various limnological themes. In the afternoons, some of the themes presented will be applied in the field, in the lab and on the computer :
