The common topic of my research interests is the exchange of organic matter (connectivity) from terrestrial to aquatic ecosystems and among different aquatic systems as well as the impact of these exchanges on ecosystem functioning. During my PhD, I focus on the composition and origin of the dissolved organic carbon (DOC) as a controlling factor of boreal lakes partial pressure of CO2 (pCO2), the main determinant of lakes emission of greenhouse gases.
The overall objective is to refine our understanding of the role of DOC as a substrate for the production of CO2 in boreal lakes. More specifically, the main approach is to examine the links between catchments regional characteristics, DOC composition optical properties and origin and its biological and photo-chemical reactivity.
