As part of my master's, I studied the relationship between the state of vegetation succession in the catchment following a natural disturbance and the carbon dynamics in boreal lakes. Specifically, my thesis explored the relationship between forest fires, plankton respiration in epilimnion, and the surface emission of greenhouse gases from lakes in the region of James Bay, Quebec. For a period of 4 years, I also participated in EM-1 projec,t conducted jointly with Hydro-Quebec, that had for subject the net budget of greenhouse gases emissions out of EM-1 hydroelectric reservoir located north of the 52nd parallel in the Province of Quebec.
I feel that my journey within the team was a privilege, and I keep unforgettable memories of my experience as a biologist in boreal lacustrine environment.
