My main research interests are in the mechanisms structuring microbial communities with a special emphasis in the interaction between bacterial activity and the availability of organic substrates (DOM). I use molecular tools and optical measurements allied to theorical concepts from Macroecology to understand spatiotemporal dynamics of microbial communities in complex aquatic networks.
